Dear fellow Believers in Christ in CAMACOP,

Greetings!

Last year, the collective effort of the Filipino people made Earth Hour 2009 a resounding success. The Philippines ranked number 1 worldwide in terms of scale of public participation in the project.

For Earth Hour 2010, we are once again called to switch off our lights for one hour, 8:30- 9:30 p.m. on March 27, 2010. This is a gesture of our participation in the worldwide effort of taking action on global warming. Over one billion people in more than 6,000 cities, towns and municipalities worldwide are participating.

I am therefore asking all of us to do the same. We are switching off our lights for one hour on March 27, 2010 from 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening. This may cause a bit of a discomfort for many, but such participation is a very little price compared to the awareness that we will produce out of our involvement.

The Bible records:

"And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
(Genesis 1: 26)

We are called to be wise stewards of God's creation! Let us do so.
