Bishop Nebab Presents Plaque Of Appreciation To The C&MA Of Canada

On July 2-6, 2008, the Christian and Missionary Alliance(C&MA) Churches of Canada held its General Assembly in Ottawa City, Ontario. Dr. Franklin Pyles, President of C&MA Canada extended an invitation to Bishop Reniel Joel Nebab to attend the said general assembly. During the first night of the gathering, Bishop Nebab and the President of C&MA Vietnam were given a few minutes each to share their respective reports. After Dr. Pyles introduced Bishop Nebab to the assembly, the Philippines president gave a report on the beginnings and the present state of the CAMACOP. He thanked the C&MA Canada for their missionary endeavours and the The following is an excerpt of a news item during the assembly:

Bishop Nebab reflected that the Alliance was considering closing the Philippines work when it sent Canadian missionary Dr. Robert Jaffray to study the situation. He reported back that he saw the potential for God's working there rather than the realities. Today, Bishop Nebab said there are more than 2,500 churches and 3,000 plus workers. In the past year alone, he said more than 300 new churches were planted.

During the Missions rally in the evening of July 5, Bishop Nebab was given a few minutes to present a plaque of appreciation for the missionary efforts of C&MA Canada. On behalf of the CAMACOP, he expressed gratitude and thanksgiving to God for what the C&MA has done to the ministry in the Philippines. Bishop Nebab then requested the missionaries who were assigned to the Philippines to stand up and expressed gratitude to them for investing their lives in his country to the glory of God. Dr. Pyles accepted the plaque on behalf of the C&MA Canada, and then the whole assembly rose to its feet and gave a long standing ovation. Someone commented and said, "It was the most fitting highlight of the evening". Indeed, it was fitting because it was missions night.

Bishop Nebab was accompanied by his wife Ana during the trip. He was also able to visit some Filipino Alliance Churches in Canada, like the one in Toronto, pastored by Dr. Asterio Wee with Associate Pastor Rev. Rod Felomino; the one in Ottawa pastored by Rev. Ernie Pinzon; the other in Winnipeg pastored by Rev. Fred Sebastian; and also the one on Edmonton pastored by Rev. Ricky Mapa. In Calgary, Bishop Nebab was able to fellowship with the pastoral team of Rev. Charlie Mance and had time with Rev. Frank Herras.
