GA subsidies for retired workers and church planters
CAMACOP national treasurer Rev. Raymundo F. Eding revealed in an interview today that all CAMACOP retired workers and official church planters will enjoy subsidies when they attend the general assembly in Cebu City come April 22- 26, 2009. The retired workers referred to are those who reached retirement age of 65 years old while in active service in the ministry. They will receive 50 per cent subsidy. On the other hand, official church planters will enjoy 30 percent subsidy.
The action on the retired workers is an implementation of a previous GA decision. The action on the church planters is a decision by the national administrative ministry team headed by Bishop Reniel Joel A. Nebab which was forwarded to and approved by the National Board of Trustees. It was learned that the total amount for these subsidies is very large. Notwithstanding, the national administrative team and the NBOT took a strong decision primarily because CAMACOP is in a good financial standing and can hurdle the challenge. Bishop Nebab has also raised a good amount of money for this purpose from friends and donors in the Philippines and abroad.
For the retired workers, this will mean a subsidy of P4,000 pesos, while the church planters get P2,400 each. This is indeed manna from heaven.
