Report from Division of Church Ministries
By: Bishop Eduardo C. Cajes
NEM- DCM
The religion of CAMACOP is Christianity with a compelling thrust: That we envision transformed communities with mission- driven Christian organizations here and abroad for the glory of God. We exist to transform communities and to aggressively disciple the nations by engaging in holistic development ministries; and by planting churches that proclaim Jesus Christ as Saviour, Sanctifier, Healer and Coming King.
The call to be Holy is mandated by God Himself (Lev. 19: 2). To live in saintliness is our divine obligation. May the Lord grant us a holy environment and catch the winds of blessed things to happen in our midst beyond what we can imagine. Let us move an extra mile because living in God's holiness should never be a crowded place of saintly attraction. Each one of us is a special, unique and peculiar being in the sight of god without duplication because our eternal creator only makes original beings patterned after His holy image and likeness.
Division of Church Ministries: Functions
1. Human resource and development
2. Personnel records and licensing
3. Support auxiliaries and agencies
4. Alliance Continuing Education program for pastors
5. Research and statistics
6. Church Growth Ministries: develop and plant healthy churches (for G.A. '09 approval)
It is our prayer that these ministry functions of DCM will be helped our by all district leadership and pastors in our constituency. We have many untaught lay leadership, proven professionals, certified and skilled brethren in various field of advocacies and ministries in order to facilitate development and growth for our organization. To God be the glory! [top]
CAMACOP Profile
The CAMACOP is now more than 2,744 churches all over the Philippines, and 5,000 official workers with an approximate inclusive membership of 475 thousand. This year 2008, by Gods grace we planted 152 churches, one church planting in every 2.5 days. I am appealing to our co- workers and brethren that this church planting quantity shall flourish into a quality and healthy church shape by the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Wouldn't it be an inspiring call that church planting will be an everyday episode of the CAMACOP? Thank God!
Auxiliaries
1. NAYP Island Congress
a. Luzon, April 14- 18, 2008; Registered attendance, 400; 65 churches; and 7 districts
b. Mindanao, April 7- 11, 2008; Registered attendance, 764; 144 churches; and 14 districts
2. NAWP Convention - Metro Manila, April 28- May 1, 2008; 873 Registered delegates
3. NAMP Convention - Cagayan de Oro City, Oct. 30- Nov. 1, 2008; Registered delegates, 1,042; 20 districts
The enthusiasm and attendance during the national gatherings of our auxiliary groups demonstrate a scenario of a healthy fellowship life both in the local meetings and district conventions. However, we challenge our auxiliaries to recollect back its fundamental heritage to serve as arms and support agencies of our local churches. The local church is the basic component of CAMACOP structure and formation ministering to various people groups here and beyond. [top]
Open Air Meetings (3 Evangelists) 2008
LUZON, 26 Meetings; 4,020 Attendance; 2,960 Decisions; 34 Baptism (after the meetings)
VISAYAS, 31Meetings; 2,705 Attendance; 1,365 Decisions; 6 Baptisms
MINDANAO, 122 Meetings; 15,221 Attendance; 5,914 Decisions; 11 Baptisms
Total: Open air Meetings = 179; Attendance = 21,946; Decisions = 7,279; Baptisms = 51 (after the meetings)
Aside from our three national evangelists, we have more or less 18 local and district teams and volunteer evangelists aggressively proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus. The district leadership will oversee these various groups of evangelists. There are also individuals that produce and write materials for evangelism and discipleship, and implement them in their pastoral ministries, church planting in small and big groups. The PSALM materials are proven tools for evangelism, discipleship and leadership development in school campuses and local churches nationwide for more than 30 years already. [top]
Prayer and Fasting
There were 17 districts who observed this activity with 1,078 registered participants; 29 churches and one Bible school. Our lone prayer coordinator is facilitating prayer and water fasting to our districts and local churches. Our circuit, zone, district pastors and auxiliary groups are faithfully observing prayer retreats and fasting respectively. Hopefully, our residential and non- residential institutions will promote a culture of prayer and water fasting among the faculty and students.
CAMACOP National Identification Cards: Rationale
1. To identify and document individual/ national membership of CAMACOP.
2. To augment administrative efficiency for the local, district and national governance out of the collected data and information.
3. To establish organizational accountability and linkage to all the members of the organization.
4. To supplement and expand network of information, re- sourcing and servicing in the area of seminars, workshops and educational ventures through the accessibility of documented information from all memberships function, position, gifting and involvement both in the church and society.
5. To promote belongingness and camaraderie one with another.
6. To help bona fide members of CAMACOP to be easily acknowledged and recognized when the need arises when the members travel to other places. [top]
Reminders:
1. The DCM will provide the DMSes sample of the MEMBERSHIP forms.
2. Pastor/ CMT shall verify each filled- up membership form.
3. The pastor will endorse the forms to their respective DMS.
4. The donation for ID is 50 pesos.
5. Get your receipts from the DMS as a whole.
6. Check carefully the neatness of ID pictures.
7 .Don't forget to affix your signature.
8. This form is to be completed by all CAMACOP members and workers.
Alliance Workers' Villages
1. Consolacion, Cebu with 68 lots (200 sq. mtrs.) - sold out to pastors (CEBOLESA)
2. City of Koronadal, South Cotabato (SMD)
a. Morales site: 16 lots (200 sq. mtrs.) - sold out to pastors
b. Sarabia site: 70 lots (300 sq. mtrs.)
These villages were facilitated by the district leadership or DMT with the national leadership advises. We encourage other districts to plan and scout for possible land acquisition for pastors' subdivision. It would be advisable for all pastors of CAMACOP to apply for PAG-IBIG FUND and ARP membership so you and the district can handle the future opportunity in the procurement of land subdivision for pastors and brethren.
Let us, therefore, share our brilliant insight and collective action that would lead us into a state of holy living. We have a great part in becoming a model of righteousness in the pursuit of saintliness.
We may influence our family, congregation, neighbourhood, community, nation and the world to live in God's holiness. [top]
