Alliance Women President sends praises

"I declare with the psalmist, "Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised."" This was how Mrs. Sylvia G. Guevara, national Alliance Women Philippines president, expressed her thanksgiving to God after a number of successful activities and conferences of the AWP in December 2008 and more recently in March, April and May of 2009.

She attributed to God all good things that have happened to her and to the AWP, to wit:   God's divine enabling, sustaining grace, strength and wisdom; His protection in all her travels; all district presidents and district officers who are faithfully doing their roles; faithful donors and supporters of church planting ministry and missionary work; and faithful AWP intercessors.

Among their activities were:

      National Leadership Seminar: December 4-6, 2008
      Venue: Springland Hotel & Resort, Pagadian City
      More than 30 Alliance women and a few men attended, mostly district leaders.

      Zone and Circuit AWP fellowships
      Pastors' wives & Lady ministers fellowship: March 6-7, 2009
      Venue: Ozamis City

      Global Mission Team meeting: April 22, 2009
      Venue: Dr. Lina Villegas’ residence, Banilad, Cebu City

      National Executive Board meeting: April 23, 2009
      Venue: Dr. Lina Villegas’ residence, Banilad, Cebu City
      Distributed cash gifts to all missionaries present during the 50th General Assembly,
      Crown Regency Hotel, Cebu City, as well as to those who have been in the mission
      field.

      Reorganization of Sulu-Tawi-Tawi District AWP: May 1, 2009
      Praise the Lord for the reorganization of Sulu Tawi-tawi  district Alliance Women
      after 7  years due to  volatile  peace  and  order. Several alliance women from Jolo
      are now residing in Zamboanga City . Sixty- eight women  were present. It was held       at the United Evangelical Church in Zamboanga City. The  theme  was "Redeem the
      Time". Mrs. Vicky  Sia of Jolo  was elected  president.

A forthcoming special event is the 6th Mission Trip and 3rd Asia Pacific Alliance Women Fellowship to be held in Bali, Indonesia from August 30 to September 6, 2009. Please pray for financial provisions for all Alliance women who desire to attend. Php 40,000 is the estimated expenses for all Filipino delegates.
