Missionaries to HK Rev. Mark and Mrs. Gladdie Venezuela send update
July 7, 2009

Missionaries to Quarry Bay Filipino Alliance Church, Hong Kong, Rev. Mark and Mrs. Gladdie Venezuela were in the Philippines for the CAMACOP 50th General Assembly held at Crown Regency Suites in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu last April 22 to 26, 2009. They arrived in the country a day before the assembly. After the general assembly which was attended by about 1,100 official delegates, mostly pastors and their wives, and other church leaders, a two- day seminar among CAMACOP missionaries was held. The national executive minister for the division of missions, the Rev. James Quisquirin presided over the seminar. It was a refreshing experience for the mostly tired missionaries.
Following the seminar, the home assignment of the couple began on May 14. This home assignment ended on June 7, after visiting 30 churches mostly in Zamboanga. This makes for 24 days of travel and preaching, which was altogether joyful and exciting because the hosts showed that the churches cared for them. The 30 churches that they visited are shown below, with their identification at the bottom of the pictures.

From top to bottom: Patawag Alliance Church, Malintuboan Alliance Church, Gabu Christian Alliance Fellowship, Lower Ubay Alliance Church, Labason Alliance Church, Sea Gypsies' Mission, Tamao Alliance Church, Labason Evangelical Fellowship Church, Kipit Alliance Evangelical Church, La Libertad Alliance Church, Gutalak Alliance Church, San Juan Alliance Church, Daniel Maing Alliance Church, Kalawit Alliance Church, Home Garden Chapel, Galingon Alliance Church, Tampilisan Alliance Church, Liloy Evangelical Church, Baybay Evangelical Church, Banigan Alliance Church, Salug Alliance Evangelical Church, Rizon Alliance Church, Bogabungan Alliance Church, Leon Postigo Alliance Church, Talinga Alliance Church, Christian And Missionary Alliance Church, Sindangan, Jose Dalman Alliance Church, Disakan Alliance Evangelical Church, Manukan Alliance Church, Dipolog Alliance Evangelical Church.[top]
After the visits to these churches, this is what the missionary couple had to say: "We praise and thank God that in the thirty places that we visited, we were warmly and joyfully received by both the workers and church members. We were housed in the best houses available, we were served the best food in the location, and were provided well beyond their means. In the thirty Missions worship services that we attended, we gave our reports, God's message and challenge, and were encouraged by the good attendance. What blessed us so much was the attendance of the church members even if the services were held during weekdays, and their response to the missions challenge. Praise God!"
"We also express our deep appreciation to the churches for their strong support to the Missions program of God, of CAMACOP, and of the districts. This was shown by their good attendance."
Mark and Gladdie are now back in Hong Kong continuing the ministry with the Filipino local church there. They continue to be a blessing to many overseas Filipino workers, doing counseling, Bible study, and encouraging ministries especially as these OFWs have a difficult life away from their families.
