Update From the Maraats
(Development Workers, Mongolia)
August 18, 2009

(The Maraats have been sent to Mongolia as development workers aiming to transform communities into progressive and healthy communities with much for everyone. The following is their Progress Report and Update.)
Dear Friends,
Nihao! (Hello!)
The first week of August has now come to an end. And what a week it has been! It's only the 9th day of our journey. And since day 1 the Lord has brought our family through a lot.
Thank you so much for all your prayers in our behalf. Through your intercessions, we end this week victorious. We would like you to know that:
1. Anna and Abigail are now healed, and the rest of us – Richel, Adrian and I – did not get the A(H1N1) virus. Thank God that the virus in our girls was discovered, otherwise, we might have spread it to others, especially the CAMA workers in Mongolia whom we would have joined at the Field Forum.
2. HE took care of us at Xiamen – Hospitalization and treatment was free, the room was good, and our basic needs were taken care of. He gave me peace throughout our stay there. His grace sustained us. I thank God for the encouraging text messages I received while in isolation.
3. HE sent people to help us in Xiamen – I run out of my daily thyroid maintenance medicine and Jeff & Jenny (C&MA) worked out to send me the medicines. They also sent us towels and clothes, books, cards, and other things that will keep the children occupied while in isolation. Bill, Beulah Gerada’s Chinese friend, helped us greatly in communicating. He did all the calls to the airline and the hospital. His instructions helped a lot, especially when we got out of the hospital. [top]
4. We were able to fly out of Xiamen to Beijing on Thursday evening. Otherwise, we would not have had time to process our Chinese visa extension.
5. There's a 'CBN China'! – Heidi and John of CBN were our "angels" in Beijing. John did all the driving/guiding and translating for us especially at the Mongolian Embassy, Chinese Visa Center and the Philippine Embassy. Heidi did all the calling and connecting with the different offices and agencies to get all the papers we needed.
6. For all the support we received from all the "families" we belong to (CAMACOP, CMA, CBN, CAMA Mongolia, Bacolod, Adelphos). Such a blessing to belong to HIS great worldwide family!
We could go on and on, for there is truly so much to thank God for... and to think it has only been 9 days! There are still so many days ahead...to be lived one day at a time... to be walked one step at a time... to be fought one battle at a time. To God be the glory!
