Rev. Ruth Tablada, First CAMACOP Ordained Lady Minister
November 29, 2010

Histories are histories. And some histories are pictures of challenges and the changing of the times.
Last April 28, 2010, Pastora Ruth Tablada, was ordained by the whole members of the National Board of Trustees of the CAMACOP. Leading the ordination ceremonies were Bishop Dr. Reniel Joel A. Nebab and Auxiliary Bishop Rev. Eduardo C. Cajes. The venue was the Alliance Women Philippines national congress in Crown Regency Hotel, Lapu- lapu City. Pastora Ruth Tablada has since then become Rev. Ruth Tablada.
The ordination was a result of the General Assembly action last April 2009, also in Crown Regency, Lapu- lapu City, when the assembly voted to permit the ordination of women ministers in CAMACOP especially when their ministries require it. Rev. Ruth Tablada, who has been ministering in Hong Kong for the past 22 years, was recommended for the ordination by the Hong Kong CAMACOP missionary team, basing their action on the “unique ministry” where Rev. Tablada was serving the Lord.
Rev. Ruth Tablada was born in Bolanao, Kalinga- Apayao of farmer parents. She finished the Bachelor of Religious Education at Ebenezer Bible College in 1977, and the Master of Missions at Alliance Biblical Seminary (now Alliance Graduate School) in 1985. Before she went to Hongkong, she was involved in starting congregations in the Philippines with the late Rev. Rufino Ganibe at Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, northern Luzon. She has also previously pastored in Carlatan Alliance Church in San Fernando, La Union, and in Tagaytay City Alliance Church in Tagaytay City. She started her ministry in Hong Kong in August of 1988. Her ministries involve pastoral responsibilities including counselling and encouraging distressed Filipina workers in the colony, and discipleship.
