HECA Center Report
December 17, 2009
By: DMS Delfin T. Bangilan
In 2005, I submitted a request thru Pastor Byron of SPCC the need of HECA for a ministry center. It will serve as a center where training for church planters, pastors and missionaries be held. In 2006, SPCC gave funds that enabled us to buy 9 hectares of beautiful farm land! Slowly, we started developing and using the property.
First, we fenced the property. Then we dug water. We put up 3 small cottages. In 2007, SPCC came and we worked on the concrete floor of the gym. In 2008, we constructed the posts and dug another well. In June this year, when we came back from the US, we started working on the roof of the gym. In August when the SPCC youth came, we laid the foundations of the dorm. Finally, on September 25, last month, the gym has been completely roofed.
We thank the Lord for this beautiful multi purpose gym!! On September 26, 2009, we held our first district pastors assembly at the gym. All 75 of us worshipped the Lord for a beautiful place to gather for prayer, worship, training, conferences, camps and agriculture training.
The Dorm
When the SPCC youth came in August, we worked together on the dorm. We pray for the completion of the dorm ASAP. When the 75 Pastors met on September 26, the typhoon struck the night before. We packed the small cottages with people; some of us slept in our cars, but there were some who had no place to sleep so they had to sleep on the gym floor. With the wind blowing the water from the gutters, the brethren who slept in the gym were wet.
We look forward to significant series of ministry events to be held at the center next year. One of which is the medical mission of SPCC in May. We are praying that the dorm be roofed, walled and the floor finished by May. So the medical mission team shall have a place to stay. With this, I request if it is possible, that CAMACOP help us. We need all the help we could get. Below are the dorm posts:
Church Planting Update
I reported when I spoke at SPCC of 130 unreached villages that have no Evangelical churches. Of the 5 places we targeted for church planting in 2007, we were able to start churches in 4 of them. 2 of these are supported by SPCC-- Potia, and the HECA center. Before they left, Pastor Byron asked me to identify 10 new places ready for planting. We all prayed that if God wills so, these could be supported by life groups in SPCC. We will constantly go to the Lord in prayer for this. These are the list of the 10 villages that are ready for church plant. I’ll show where these are in the map.
1. Sto Domingo, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao
