The NEGPAS District Youth Camp 2009

NEGPAS District Youth Camp

Filamer Christian College, Roxas City, Capiz is this year’s venue of the NEGPAS District Youth Camp on December 26-30, 2009, with the theme: I-GEN: IDEAL GENERATION. Once again the youth from NEGPAS District will converge to experience the fresh anointing and empowering of God’s Spirit on this significant and memorable day in the spiritual life of our young people and in the history of NEGPAS District.

With the partnership of the Ambassadors For Christ International Philippines the NEGPAS District AYP aims to develop and build future leaders from the youth. Rev. Isachar los Bañes is this year’s Camp Speaker, while, Rev. Edmund Linatan and Pastor Mamerto Catorce are our Camp Lecturers.

What then are the spiritual benefits from attending the camp?

1. EFFECTIVE EVANGELISM – Camp is one of the most fruitful settings for reaping a harvest of new believers. One of the aims of this year’s youth camp is to evangelize at a barangay in Roxas City through our Gift Giving Evangelistic Outreach. Our target audience are the young people in the community as well as their families. The delegates will be trained in the camp how to share the Gospel before the outreach.

2. CONTINUOUS QUALITY TIME – The camp is designed to give the young people a great time while helping them get to know God better. They will learn more about the Bible and what God expects from them. Also, they will be able to get to know others well and make new friends with other young people from NEGPAS Churches that will last a lifetime! There will be an uninterrupted time of meaningful fellowship and Bible study

3. REST AND RECREATION – As Jesus said in Mark 6:31 "Come with Me by yourselves to quiet place and get some rest", so we programmed this year’s camp with more rest and recreation than the previous camps. There will be fun, games and activities which will spice up the enjoyable atmosphere and the healthy competitions which will challenge the young people to take a new level of camaraderie and cooperation. We have lined up various fun filled activities which involve the active participation of the campers like workshops, group sharing, Bible discussions, outdoor and indoor games, stage presentation which will give the campers the chance to discover their talents and many more. The highlight of the activity is for the campers to come closer with their relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

4. MODELING OPPORTUNITIES – Pastors, youth leaders and youth workers are encourage to set an example to the campers by taking part in all camp activities. Effective modeling calls significant time together for the minister and young people. Within the camping experience, ministers can convey the value of family togetherness, sincere interest in young people, good sportsmanship, laugh loud with, loving discipline, openness, eagerness to learn, and serving unselfishly. It's also a place to build "esprit de corps" among ministers and young people. Living together in the camp for a short while nurtures a church’s family identity. There's an old camping axiom: If you go camping with someone and come home friends, you’re really friends.

5. OUTDOOR WORSHIP – Worshipping outdoor leads Christians to a deeper appreciation of the Creator through various close encounters with the creation. While on travel to and from the camp, the campers will witness God’s creation. They will be amazed with the scenic beauty of the mountains. The camp site also provides fitting opportunity to look at the creation and foster deeper respect and appreciation of God’s creation. This kind of worship teaches a strong and positive lesson to young people, that true worship in not confined to one building or one place. True worship takes place in the heart. It also provides fitting opportunities to encourage good stewardship of the beautiful world God has given us.

- OUR YOUTH IS THE FUTURE OF OUR CHURCH AND OUR COUNTRY! LET US SUPPORT THEM. -
